A natural gemstone with a high refractive index that gives it exceptional brilliance and fire, brown zircon is a variety of zircon that appears brown due to impurities within the crystal structure, usually iron. Because of its durability and earthy tones, it is frequently used in jewelry. It is also known as cinnamon stone or hyacinth.
