A naturally occurring emerald gemstone that has been cut into a long, rectangular shape with pointed ends (a baguette shape) and is rated as being of excellent quality, precisely “AA,” is called a “Natural Emerald Baguette AA.” A high-quality emerald with good color, clarity, and cut is indicated with an AA grade. Despite having a few minor inclusions that are visible under magnification or being somewhat lighter in color than a AAA-grade stone, an AA-grade emerald is nevertheless regarded as being of excellent quality.
